Heaven vs. Hell: Do you know what the Bible really has to say?
I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life… Deuteronomy 30:19 (KJV)
We hear a lot about Heaven in churches today, but it’s not very often that we are taught of the great many warnings the Bible gives us about Hell. Hell is an incredibly real, terrifying place, dear friends, and a place that the Bible talks about even more than it talks about Heaven.
Hell is most assuredly a place where God does NOT want you to go.
The choice is yours.
Let me ask you to close your eyes for a moment…as if it were your last moment on this earth right before you breathed your last breath. After all, none of us are guaranteed tomorrow.
Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth. Proverbs 27:1 (KJV)
Will you take the gamble on believing in Christ just as the thief on the cross did 2,000 years ago? Will you dare to take the gamble on spending eternity in the glory of heaven…in the very presence of the God of all creation, or will you choose an eternity of torment in Hell, where the fire is never quenched.
And one of the malefactors which were hanged railed on him, saying, If thou be Christ, save thyself and us. But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss. And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise. Luke 23:39-43 (KJV)
Do you really know what the Bible has to say about Hell?
And further, beloved, do you know where you will go when that final breath comes?
Will you be absent from the body and present with the Lord?
We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. 2 Corinthians 5:8 (KJV)
OR will you awake to eternal fire where your worm (what you becomes of you in Hell) never dies?
Verses speaking of Hell below:
Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. Mark 9:44 (KJV)
Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming: it stirreth up the dead for thee…all they shall speak and say unto thee, Art thou also become weak as we? art thou become like unto us? Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, and the noise of thy viols: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee…thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit. Isaiah 14:9-11, 15 (KJV)
And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcasses of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be abhorring unto all flesh. Isaiah 66:24 (KJV)
Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. Mark 9:44 (KJV)
OR will you be absolutely and utterly blown away by the love and splendor and majesty of the living God, our Lord Jesus Christ?
But as it is written, eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 1 Corinthians 2:9 (KJV)
OR will you be cast into outer darkness where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth? Did you know that despite the flames and unbearable heat, Hell will be a place of complete and utter darkness?
And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Matthew 25:30 (KJV)
The Son of man [Jesus] shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; and shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Matthew 13:41-42 (KJV)
And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night… Revelation 14:11 (KJV)
And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Matthew 10:28 (KJV)
But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which AFTER he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him. Luke 12:5 (KJV)
And these shall go away into EVERLASTING punishment: but the righteous into life eternal. Matthew 25:46 (KJV)
OR will you bask in the glory of the Light of the World Himself?
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. John 8:12 (KJV)
Will you partake in God’s exceeding great and precious promises?
Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. 2 Peter 1:4 (KJV)
To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you. 1 Peter 1:4 (KJV)
Will you go to that glorious place where there shall be no more sorrow?
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. Revelation 21:4 (KJV)
Oh, what a glorious day that will be!
Will there be joy in the presence of the angels over your repentance?
Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth. Luke 15:10 (KJV)
Will you become a beautiful, new creation in Christ?
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV)
And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. Revelation 21:5 (KJV)
OR will you choose an eternity of being tormented by your worst fears?
I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not. Isaiah 66:4 (KJV)
The contrast between an eternity in Heaven and an eternity in Hell is far greater than our human minds can even imagine, and yet once the choice to reject Christ has been made, and this life is over, your chance at redemption will be lost forever.
In Luke 16 in the story of the rich man and Lazarus, as the rich man is looking up from his torment in Hell, we read this:
But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. Luke 16:25-26 (KJV)
The good news, beloved, is that you have been given today, and if you truly believe on the Lord Jesus Christ as your Saviour, He promises that you will be sealed and saved for all eternity.
In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise. Ephesians 1:13 (KJV)
I pray with all my heart that today would be the day that you would choose Christ and be saved from Hell. If you are reading this article, He is calling you today!
Know this, beloved…God does not want you to go to Hell.
But, remember, He leaves the choice up to you.
But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. 2 Peter 3:8-10 (KJV)
As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die… Ezekiel 33:11 (KJV)
Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. Isaiah 1:18 (KJV)
Do you know that hell was not created for human beings? It was created for the devil and his angels, which are incredibly powerful supernatural beings. In 2 Kings 19:35, ONE angel killed 185,000 Assyrians in one night. Can you imagine what a place like hell would do to the human soul if it was originally created as punishment for the devil and his angels?
Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: Matthew 25:41 (KJV)
BUT you don’t have to go there! God, in his infinite love and grace has bridged the gap for us…He has given us a way out, but it is by one way and one way only: you must accept the sacrifice of the shed blood of His son Jesus Christ as payment for your sins.
For there is ONE God, and ONE mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. 1 Timothy 2:5 (KJV)
There is no other way.
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23 (KJV)
Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved… Acts 16:31 (KJV)
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Romans 10:9 (KJV)
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 (KJV)
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name. John 1:12 (KJV)
If you have not accepted Christ as your personal Saviour, I pray that today would be the day of salvation for you!
For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation. 2 Corinthians 6:2 (KJV)
To Christ be the glory!
Editor’s Note: As with all teachings you encounter in matters of spiritual things, including the posts you read here, I urge you with all diligence to test everything you read under the light and authority of God’s Holy Word…the King James Bible. Open your Bible and follow along, and see for yourself what God’s Word has to say. While I strive to be thoughtful, careful and ultimately prayerful about what I share on this site, I am still human, so should there ever be anything that isn’t in line with the Bible (which I pray doesn’t happen), then God’s Word is always right, and I am wrong. God’s Word is the final authority in all things.

And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
