Did you know that the true story of Noah and the Flood is a type of “rapture of the saints” in the Bible? In other words, Noah and his family of eight were “caught out” or raptured out in a sense and saved from the utter destruction that came upon the world by the great flood, and, interestingly, Christ continues to use it as an example to the world today.
Both Matthew and Luke record what Jesus has to say about the time leading up to the flood and how, likewise, the world will be in the same condition at the time of Christ’s return.
But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Matthew 24:37-39 (KJV)
And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. Luke 17:26-27 (KJV)
What’s particularly alarming to me about these passages is that they paint a very clear picture of today’s world…
This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. 2 Timothy 3:1-5 (KJV)
People everywhere are just going along, living their lives, eating, drinking, getting married, living for themselves and so on and so forth as if they haven’t a care in the world.
I believe the true believers in Christ are rising up and recognizing the times in which we are living and are sounding their trumpets of warning, so to speak.
All the while, the even more vast apostate, Laodicean church is slipping further and further into the clutches of Satan himself.
And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Revelation 3:14-16 (KJV)
God’s plan from the beginning to the end is now beginning to unravel at a break-neck speed, and the rest of the world doesn’t even have a clue.
Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world. Acts 15:18 (KJV)
I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. Revelation 1:8 (KJV)
The time is at hand, beloved.
Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand. Revelation 1:3 (KJV)
It is imperative that we be vigilant.
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour. 1 Peter 5:8 (KJV)
Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. 1 Corinthians 10:12 (KJV)
To today’s world, the story of Noah still stands as a serious warning to make a choice before it is too late because a time will come when it will, indeed, be too late.
The Apostle Paul warns us to redeem the time we’ve been given…
See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Ephesians 5:15-16 (KJV)
Or as my friend Geoffrey Grider from Now the End Begins says, “You cannot waste time and redeem time at the same time.”
This is true, my friend.
Did you know that God has ordained the exact place you now find yourself in the history of the world…that in this very place where you stand today, the God of the universe Himself has placed you so that you would seek Him.
And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; that they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us: Acts 17:26-27
In his book Implosion Joel C. Rosenberg describes it this way: “God decides precisely where on the planet and precisely in which period of history each man and woman is going to be born.”
Which leaves us with the huge responsibility of asking ourselves, “How will we serve the Lord in this place and time in history in which the Lord has determined for us?”
I can’t answer that question for you, friends, but I know the One who can.
We need Jesus. We need the Bible. We need to pray like never before.
We need the WHOLE ARMOUR OF GOD.
Will you and I be worthy of the calling in which we’ve been given?
Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power: That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Thessalonians 1:11-12 (KJV)
We need to be prepared for what’s coming next.
For in him we live, and move, and have our being. Acts 17:28 (KJV)
If you were to ask me what is my purpose in writing this article, I would tell you that I am pleading with you to get in the ark by accepting Jesus Christ as your Saviour. I am pleading with you to get in the Book…dear friends, I’m pleading with you to PLEASE READ YOUR KING JAMES BIBLE, because a time will come when the true followers of Jesus Christ are taken up out of this world, leaving a lost and broken world to endure the worst tribulation this world has ever seen.
Ultimately, I pray with all my heart that if you are here reading this article today and you are lost or fallen away, that today, your eyes would be opened and that you seek God’s Word for what He has in store for you.
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV)
Dear friends, I urge you to get in the ark before it’s too late!
To Christ be the Glory!
