Gather Oil for Your Lamps & Prepare Yourselves

Editor’s Note: Dispensationally, the parable of the ten virgins is for the time of the Tribulation leading up to the second coming of Christ.  However, it stands as a powerful reminder to remain in close fellowship with the Lord Jesus Christ. The Church Age saints will be raptured out prior to the Tribulation. Therefore, when I refer to God’s judgement in this article, I am referring to God’s judgement on America for its embracing of the reprobate sins. I am NOT referring to the the Tribulation/time of Jacob’s trouble.

I’ve been praying over the past few weeks about what the Lord would have me to write here on this blog, and for a while, my prayers have been met with silence, so I have quietly continued to seek His Word and pray and, ultimately, just be still.  All that to say, if you don’t hear from me for a while, please know that I am striving to wait on the Lord before I proceed on this blog.

If I don’t feel as though I have the Lord’s blessing upon what I share here, then I must wait until it’s been made clear to me that I do.

Why Every American Should Be Pleading for God’s Mercy Today

See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Ephesians 5:15-16 (KJV)

I’ve tried to avoid this topic, but this is the day in age we find ourselves in.  I’m sure there will be haters after I hit “publish”, but I have to stand before ONE and One only at the end of this life to give account for how I lived my life with the time I’ve been given.

For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. Galatians 1:10 (KJV)

Rather than repenting of our SIN, we are living in a country that whole-heartedly embraces it and flaunts it in the face of our Creator.  Those of us who know and trust in Jesus Christ should be brokenhearted over today’s headline: Supreme Court Ruling Legalizes Same Sex Marriage Nationwide.

America sealed its fate today, and that’s really, REALLY bad news.

Awake from your slumber!

And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. Romans 13:11-12 (KJV)

We are living in the days of apostasy, beloved…or what the Bible calls the falling away of the Church. What are we to do?

noun apos·ta·sy \ə-ˈpäs-tə-sē\ plural apos·ta·sies Definition of APOSTASY According to Merriam-Webster Dictionary 1:  renunciation of a religious faith  2:  abandonment of a previous loyalty

You see, dear friends, pointing others to God’s Word and His truth during these last days of the Dispensation of Grace (Ephesians 3:2 KJV) is difficult because it often means being the “bearer of bad news” from the perspective of world events but such are the times we are living in. The clock is ticking, and time is short.

But greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world…and the despite all the bad news, the ultimate Good News remains…

Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. 1 John 4:4 (KJV)

It is time to awake from your slumber, dear friends, you are now in the ultimate battle of light vs. darkness, but praise God, we know who wins the war!

The Facebook Conundrum & Deceptions of the Heart

I’m not sure how to even begin here, gang. You see, I have this sort of love-hate relationship with Facebook, and I don’t really know what to do about it.

I’ve been having this inner debate with myself on what to do about Facebook for a while now (like for oh, say, two years now). Do I continue to use it as a means of communicating with friends as well as using it to share matters of the Christian faith that I pray will spur others on to a fully devoted life in Jesus Christ?

OR, do I step away and acknowledge the tugging on my heart that FB is an incredibly corrupted platform that sucks people in to the point of addiction and does more harm than good?  Uff…that came out kind of strong, eh?

The Problem of Evil & Why We Need to Stop Making Excuses

Satan Cast Out

Scholars love to debate the problem of evil in the world.  They love to put their stamp or “opinion” on why evil must exist and so on and so forth, but I’ve found that there are only a few who will truly point you towards actual Scripture to show you what God himself has to say about it.

Then, there are those who would reject God who like to ask the question, “How can a supposedly loving God create evil?”

To which I would respond with…quite simply, He didn’t create evil.

Fairy Garden Fun

I love flowers.

They are one of my absolute favorite things.  I like to think of our great God smiling down on me whenever I see beautiful flowers in bloom. They may be small in might, and yet they are an incredible reminder of the creative power of our mighty God, and you know what?  Sometimes, it’s nice to stop and enjoy the little blessings God sends our way.

That being said, if you have followed me for a while, you will already know that one of the special things I like to do with my little girl is plant and nurture beautiful flowers AND create fun fairy gardens.

The Exclusivity of God and Other Thoughts

I’ve been praying over how to be a more thoughtful, sensitive and effective defender of the faith (although, there is also a call for boldness and an earnestness in contending for the faith) because toes are so quickly stepped on, and Christians are often times soooo, SOOOO quick to be defensive.  Why is that?

Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. Jude 1:3 (KJV)

The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion. Proverbs 28:1 (KJV)
